May Bank Holiday

Today the family came up to visit me in York to relieve me from my essay-writing for just a day. We spent the hottest day of the year so far having lunch at Filmore&Union (I wish I had some better photographs), walking the city walls, climbing Clifford's Tower and just generally enjoying what York has to offer.

Apologies for the rather photo-heavy post. I wanted to make the most of Dad's new camera while I had it! I hope you all had a lovely Bank Holiday and made the most of the glorious sunshine!

Fresh Beginnings

I know that every man and his dog (is that the phrase?) has a blog nowadays, and I've even had a few before now too which tailed off after a couple of posts (commitment issues!?). I was prompted by a chat with a lady at university who told me if I want to get into publishing (which I do), having a blog can be a good way of presenting yourself and showing your abilities.

I love looking at people's blogs - I find it fascinating on many levels. I study linguistics at university, so I suppose I find it interesting seeing how people choose to present themselves through this medium. I also love the sorts of blogs that appeal to my inner-child; the one's with lots of pictures. So I will endeavour to create something that would appeal to me, in the hope that it appeals to you
